Emily, Room 116 - Special Education
Welcome to Special Education! My name is Emily Davis, and this is my second year at Nokomis as the Learning Differences teacher for grades K-6. I am currently working on my Master's degree at Hamline University.
Special Education services are provided in a combination of inclusion and pull-out models. Depending on student needs, I spend part of the day in my own classroom, and part of the day working in the regular education classroom providing support.
Your student will be working with me during the school day on the individual goals developed as part of an Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
Students in special education are working within the same curriculum as regular education, with modifications made to meet their personal needs and academic levels. I also supplement the regular curriculum with specific, skills based activities in reading, writing, and math. I also work with the speech pathologist and social worker to coordinate services for our students. I am so excited to be a part of your student's education, and to help them meet their goals as a learner.
I am usually available for phone calls before and after school and from 12:30-1:20. Feel free to call anytime to discuss concerns or any questions.
Looking forward to working with you, Emily Davis 651-293-8857 Emily.Davis@spps.org
